Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore
Tezza 2022
dominant body, rich flavors and aromas
Teza Winery, a third-generation family business, which proves its many years of experience and specializes in making Ripasso and Amarone
The wine is aged for 12 months in wooden barrels, 6 months in stainless steel tanks and a minimum of six months in the bottle.
The winery is managed by the cousins Flavio Venio and Federico.
All the stages in the preparation – from their organically cultivated vineyards to the production of the wine itself take place in one magical place.
Clay soil, sunny climate, valpantena Vally in Valpolicella at the foot of the Alps north of Verona.
Rippaso – an ancient technique of double fermentation. The first fermentation turns the grapes into a basic valpolicella The second fermentation is activated by adding the skins left over from the production of Amarone, rich in tannins.
The meaning of the word Ripasso is “review”, “go over again, repetition of the fermentation”, also known as the cheaper Amarone. The double fermentation brings out rich flavors from the second fermentation in the Amarone skins and the aging in barrels, causing a lot of resemblance to Amarone but at a more affordable price.
