The 2016 vintage promises to be one of the best thanks to hot and dry weather, with beneficial summer rains and cool autumn nights ideal for the phenolic ripening* of Nebbiolo.
The Barolo 2016 Reserve of the Sarotto family, produced between Barolo and Novello, offers elegance and exceptional and long aging potential
36 months in oak barrels, 18 months in stainless steel barrels and from there for 12 months in the largest wooden barrel in the world registered Guinness record and back 6 months in a stainless steel barrel and a minimum of 6 months in the bottle in the cellars of the winery, a total of 6 years in the barrels before reaching the bottle.
This is a rich and complex wine with strong tannins and surprising freshness, ready to be enjoyed now or even cellared for another 20 years.
*Phenolic ripening – refers to the changes in tannins that occur in the grape skins, seeds and stems. Sugar ripening refers to the breakdown of acids and the accumulation of sugars.
