A powerful yet elegant Chardonnay from the iconic single vineyard that rises above Lake Caldaro.
In a pure, precise style, it combines racy minerality and cool climate freshness with exotic and apple driven fruit.
a concentrated creamy texture and refined oak spice, without ever feeling heavy.
The grapes are hand‑harvested and fermented in French oak barriques, with 10 months of maturation on the lees and regular bâtonnage, giving depth, complexity and impressive aging potential.
The Castel Ringberg vineyard spreads across slopes at 330 – 400 meters above sea level, on glacial gravel and dolomitic limestone soils, shaping a distinctly Alpine‑Mediterranean character and precise minerality in the wine.
Chardonnay Riserva “Castel Ringberg” boasts an outstanding track record: the 2023 vintage received 95 points from James Suckling, while the 2022 vintage was ranked No. 41 in his “Top 100 Wines of Italy 2025” – the list of Italy’s 100 best wines.
A little about Elena Walch
Elena Walch career began as an architect. After marrying a winemaker from a traditional and ancient winery in 1985, she decided to dedicate herself entirely to producing wines in South Tyrol according to her vision, moving beyond single harvests, cultivating more modern varieties, reducing the quantity of the harvest in favor of quality.
Many winemakers were skeptical of her vision, even the first woman in this region in a field that was entirely male and with revolutionary and innovative approaches in a traditional field Elena Wallach helped lead the quality revolution in South Tyrol, today her name is part of the elite of the Italian wine scene, the most prestigious and high-quality winery in Termein.
