A concentrated yet elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that combines the classic power of the variety with cool climate freshness and precise Alpine balance.

It is perfect for lovers of modern, clean and finely detailed Cabernet, with a clear focus on deep dark fruit and refined spice rather than dominant oak masking the terroir. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barriques and then further refined in bottle, developing a complex structure and impressive depth.

Cellaring potential: 15-20 years.

Vigna Castel Ringberg is a single vineyard spread across the slopes above Lake Caldaro at 330-400 meters above sea level, and is regarded as one of the iconic sites of Alto Adige.

A rare combination of glacial gravel and dolomitic limestone soils, together with a mild daytime climate, cool mountain breezes at night and the drying southern “Ora” wind, gives rise to concentrated, elegant wines with a distinctly Alpine‑Mediterranean character.

In the winery, a new state‑of‑the‑art fermentation cellar has been built, where the grapes move gently by gravity and are transferred in special “cuvon” tanks on rails instead of with aggressive pumps – one of the most advanced technologies in Italy for top red wines.

This highly gentle, gravity‑flow approach preserves the integrity and quality of the fruit and allows the creation of an exceptionally precise, elegant and complex Cabernet Sauvignon.

Elena Walch career began as an architect. After marrying a winemaker from a traditional and ancient winery in 1985, she decided to dedicate herself entirely to producing wines in South Tyrol according to her vision, moving beyond single harvests, cultivating more modern varieties, reducing the quantity of the harvest in favor of quality.

Many winemakers were skeptical of her vision, even the first woman in this region in a field that was entirely male and with revolutionary and innovative approaches in a traditional field Elena Wallach helped lead the quality revolution in South Tyrol, today her name is part of the elite of the Italian wine scene, the most prestigious and high-quality winery in Termein.

Currently managed by her daughters Julia and Karin
