CHIANTI D.O.C.G RISERVA COSMUS
Piandaccoli Winery
Dry red wine, vintage 2017
This Chianti Reserve is aged in wood for 12 months and then another 12 months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.
We chose a boutique winery, which harvests the grapes by hand, kilometers from Florence, on the beautiful hills of the Chianti DOCG production area.
The 20 hectares of vineyards are just outside the walls of the small medieval village of Malmantile, surrounded by countryside where vineyards and olive trees have always shaped the landscape.
1950 Dr. Giampaolo Bruni began growing Chianti , later he satreted a collaboration with the University of Florence, using DNA tests on grapes found in the Medici tombs, to reintroduce autochthonous varieties prevalent during the Italian Renaissance.
The Piandaccoli estate, which in history has existed since 1000 from a hostel for pilgrims, to a monastery, they claim that Napoleon visited his uncle there who was the priest of San Maniato, while he was leading an army towards Florence.
