Deep ruby with slightly darker rims, like the red of a ripe pomegranate. |
Intense hints of ripe fruit dark cherry, berries and a touch of slightly dried fruit – slowly opens up into an intense aromatic finish of dark chocolate, spices and delicate tobacco. |
Smoky notes and touches of forest floor surprise the palate, the fine, enveloping texture impresses together with generous persistence; followed by a deep tone of fine, harmonious tannins, with a very balanced and very long finish. |
| Braised meat dishes, roasts, lamb and hard cheeses. But it is also one of those wines that really needs no excuse: you can open a bottle, pour a glass, and simply let the wine take center stage with nothing on the side. |

Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera
vintage 2021
A very impressive blend from Schola saramenti , one that immediately feels as though someone has carefully considered every detail.
This is an elegant blend of 80% Negroamaro and 20% Malvasia Nera di Lecce, a sub‑variety whose historical origin is the enchanting city of Lecce in Salento – sourced from vineyards about 50 years old, and you can sense that maturity in every sip.
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently placed in small, well‑ventilated crates so that they reach the winery intact, and then go through an additional sorting on a selection table – only the very best clusters make it into the wine.
After fermentation, the wine ages for around eight months in French oak tonneaux with a medium toast, a period that allows the blend to round out and develop depth of dried fruit, forest floor, spices, and leather, while still preserving freshness, precision, and elegance, and without turning into a heavy wine.”
