Aged first for around two months in stainless steel tanks, then 12 – 18 months in oak barriques, before returning for a further 6 months in stainless steel and 6 months in bottle prior to release .
a long, meticulous process that gives the wine exceptional depth, concentration and impressive ageing potential. This is a structured, powerful red with an intense bouquet of ripe fruit and spice, placing Enrico 1 firmly among the flagship wines of Roberto Sarotto and of Piedmont.
A very special red wine, created for the first time in 1993 by Roberto Sarotto to celebrate the birth of his eldest son Enrico. The very few bottles produced for that occasion were received with such great enthusiasm that it was decided to continue making this wine in subsequent vintages, right up to today. The grapes come from the Langhe hills, grown on compact clayey and calcareous marl soils, and are harvested in early October.
